Catching Up

We're still here!! Honestly, we are struggling to get into a routine. I think we're gonna be OK...it is just gonna take us a while. We have to leave at the house by 7:00 am to get everyone where they need to be on time. Granted, that is only 20 minutes earlier than our one-child routine, but it is exponentially more difficult. DG is still waking a couple times a night but fortunately JB is a big help with that and we try to take turns to minimize the sleep deprivation.

Today was DG's second day of day care. Today was better than yesterday, and I did see improvement, but I know she is gonna take a while to settle in. Fortunately, I am close enough to go and spend my lunch hour with her. All the green snotty noses bother me. I know that happens whenever kids are together in the winter, but I have enjoyed sheltering the princess from boogers so far! At this point, I'm just hoping she stays healthy until her 6-month well-baby visit next week.

Funny, almost every person without fail comments on this girl’s hair. (And they never saw it BEFORE the haircut!) It seems so normal to me now that I almost don't get it.

At any rate, thank you for patiently waiting for pictures. Hope you enjoy the slide shows!

She is so precious.

I would be really concerned about any daycare that allows parents bring in sick kids(anything that is a sign of infection or virus such as colored snot or fevers, etc.). Just a suggestion I would start looking elsewhere. From my experience this is NEVER a good thing and should not be considered ok by parents. Have you thought about a nanny? It is not as expensive and a lot of people think it is (compared to a decent daycare situation) and it is better for the child. It is the next best thing to be home with her yourself.

I can't believe DG is almost six months! Wow, that flew by! :) Good luck with the daycare transition - if you ever need a sitter for the day, Will & I would be glad to pinch hit!

I'm personally voting to bug-bomb the entire OKC area with Lysol right now! Everyone's so sick everywhere. I watched a kid rub his nose on the grocery cart handle at Target the other day - now I KNOW why we've all had the creepies! :) Come on, Spring! :)

Miss DG is so adorable. Just love that hair.

Sorry about the sickies. We've had the plague here and ready to feel human again.

I'd love to hear more about DG's transition to daycare - Phoebe is starting in a couple of weeks. Eeks! And her new haircut looks spiffy - she is just so darn adorable! Happy 6 month birthday DG!
